How the Rolling Hills Estate Helped Create a New Reality
The Rolling Hills estate, which spans the rolling hills and valleys of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has transformed Albuquerque from a sleepy community of modest homes to one of the world’s most expensive cities.
The rolling hills have seen a boom in real estate investment.
But in order to reap the rewards of the boom, the community has to create a more sustainable future.
Today, the Rolling Hill community is one of New Mexico’s wealthiest.
The estate’s owner, Mark Czerny, is the grandson of famed architect Henry Czermak, who designed the first modernist skyscraper in New York.
Czerty and his wife, Jane, opened the Rolling Heirs in 1988 with the goal of creating a neighborhood where they could enjoy the peace of mind that comes with being surrounded by nature.
“The rolling hills, I think, have a really special place in our hearts,” Jane Czerczyk says.
The Rolling Heir is one in a series of developments that have transformed Albuquerque.
It was a gift from the city of Albuquerque to the Rolling Heights neighborhood in 2014.
The Czerces wanted to help the neighborhood feel more connected to the surrounding community, and the community had a great response.
Today more than 100,000 people live in the rolling hill neighborhood, which includes a number of upscale neighborhoods, including the Northshore, Westside, and Central.
Jane Czarcy says the rolling neighborhoods have helped to change the perception of what it means to be a New Mexican.
“When we opened our community, people thought it was just a small place.
Now we are like the middle of the country.
It’s like our home,” she says.
Jane and Mark Czarciks have been friends for almost 30 years.
They opened the Rollers Hills Real Estate Agency in 2009 to provide affordable housing to low-income and working families.
Today they have more than 150 employees.
The couple started the agency after the loss of a partner to Alzheimer’s disease.
Mark and Jane are both former executives of New York-based real estate company Fidelity and they now run their own real estate agency, the Czerbics Agency.
It is a business they feel is both a blessing and a curse.
“It’s been an adventure,” Jane says.
“You always want to build something new, but when you go to a new location and you have to make hard decisions you get worried.”
She says the first thing she wants to do when she is back in Albuquerque is rebuild the RollingHeirs community.
“If I could do that in 10 minutes, I would take it back to the very beginning.”
Jane says she wants the rolling neighborhood to continue to create and nurture a new future.
The next step is to help build the community to become the most livable place in New Mexico.
The family’s goal is to provide an opportunity for young people to learn about how to build sustainable communities and have opportunities to become homeowners and to make money through the process.
“We have a vision of what we want our community to be,” Jane explains.
“Our vision is to be the best place in the world for people to live.
We want our people to be able to move back and forth, to work and play, to take care of themselves.”
To help the RollingHill community, Jane and the Czarces are opening the Rollingheirs Community Development Corporation, which has been creating a permanent program to support the community.
The first two months will focus on providing low- and moderate-income residents with financial assistance and training in sustainable living.
After two months, the program will expand to offer an additional six months of financial assistance, a health insurance plan, and support services.
The community will also be supported through a community development program, where community members can help develop affordable housing and businesses, and they will receive training and mentoring in building sustainable communities.
Jane says it is important to create an environment that fosters creativity and that encourages innovation and collaboration.
The project is a part of the Albuquerque Partnership for the Future, which was created to help promote sustainable development and promote the values of the city.
Jane hopes that the rolling area will become a place where young people and families can be active in creating a more just, sustainable future for Albuquerque.
“This community has a lot of potential and we have to help to create the right climate and make sure that it can grow,” Jane tells National Geographic.
“But we also want to see it become a beautiful community.”
